Hello world! ...I'm San Francisco Tim. Welcome to my San Francisco blog where I explore all things San Francisco. And enjoy my quality San Francisciana adorned with "History Worth Repeating."
Sanfranciscotim.com is a blog for visitors and everyone interested in San Francisco, its stunning history, beauty and culture. Sanfranciscotim.com is for the curious who want to go way beyond San Francisco's iconic destinations, though they are a must, to get a close-up look at the city Paul Kantner of the Jefferson Airplane described as, "49 square miles surrounded by reality."
We're going to take in every one of those 49 square miles! We're going to visit Kerouac on Kerouac Alley and hike Glen Canyon Park to experience the last natural piece of Gold Rush San Francisco. We'll stand where California's last duel happened at Lake Merced. Someone say cocktail time? Say hi, Mr. Nancy, and enter Wild Side West's artful beer garden to be amazed. We're definitely going to say hi to the Lusty Ladies the first erotic dancers in the world to unionize and own their theater! Hell, we're going everywhere!
Let's do San Francisco!
As a young man, your faithful, newly minted San Francisco blogger worked in Michigan automotive factories and dreamed of laboring in a history factory. After university and a few years in the professional world, a hiatus as a baker and touring author, I lit out in 1984 for San Francisco, this captivating, seductive, historic "City of Neighborhoods" leaving the Motor City in the rear view mirror.
Since, I've published two San Francisco books, Some of My Best Friends are Naked: Interviews with seven Erotic Dancers, dancers with whom I worked at the Lusty Lady Theater for six years. Book two is Cab Talk: Voices from the Backseat of a San Francisco Taxi, my oil-burning San Francisco observatory of 18 years. San Francisco Tim's History Tour Maps (Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf) and San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf: Then & Now with San Francisco Tim, an iPhone app, guide you to a deeper understanding of San Francisco and why…San Francisco Is The Gift!
